Porche: The Automated Outage System

Our Porche system is ready to answer calls during a high-volume outage, making outage reporting fast and simple.

Not only does Porche let us answer outage calls more quickly, but it helps us organize and dispatch personnel and equipment more efficiently. What had been a time-consuming task now can be done with the push of a button—giving you better service all around.

How it works

The key to using this system is your telephone number. The phone number in our records for your account is what links you to the outage reporting system, so please make sure it is correct. If the phone number we have is incorrect or if we don't have it at all, it will take longer to restore your service.

As you call in, the answering system will prompt you to enter the phone number of the account that is out of power. By matching the phone number with an account, the system knows who is without power. You also have the option of leaving a voice message for reporting downed lines, broken poles, and similar problems.

Your phone number is our connection to you. Porche uses your telephone number to locate your outage and signal our dispatcher. As the different areas of electric service are restored, the automated system can call you back to check that your power came back, too.

If you do not have a Touch-Tone phone, you will have the option of leaving a message telling where the outage is.

Check your number

Look at the bottom right-hand portion of your electric bill, where you'll find a place for your home phone number. Make sure the number listed on your bill is your home phone number. If the number on your bill doesn't belong to you or is missing, make the necessary correction and send it in with your payment. This will help us to help you.
