Surge Guard
While there is surge protection equipment installed on our system, there is
still the possibility that an electrical surge can enter your
home and damage your appliances. Broad River Electric Co-op
can now provide protection for the major appliances in your
home. For just $5.95 a month, members can have a meter base
surge protection device installed on their meter that will
protect most major appliances. The meter base surge protector
provides protection from surges that can enter the home through
the power line only.
If the device ever fails and there is damage to an electrical
appliance, there is a connected equipment warranty associated
with the surge protector.
Broad River Electric Co-op also has secondary surge protectors
for sale. These devices are for the protection of computers,
televisions, VCR’s, or any device that is subject to
surges coming through the cable TV line, telephone line, or
antenna line.
